We operate fairly standard Terms & Conditions relating to the sale of books online. Please check through the paragraphs below to ensure that you are happy to trade with us on these terms. You should also refer to our Privacy Policy, which covers terms and conditions of use of our website, the use of cookies, and what personal data we may retain and how we use it.
Introduction
By purchasing a book through this website you are entering into an agreement with Double DeClutch Limited, book publishers and distributors. These T&Cs govern the sale and purchase of books through our website. By placing an order you are deemed to have accepted and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
This document does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. In these terms and conditions “we” means Double DeClutch Limited, publishers, and “you” means yourself, or “they” as our customer or a prospective customer. The additional terms of “us”, “our”, “their” and “your” should be construed accordingly.

All rights reserved. This book is sold subject to the condition that it shall not, by way of trade or otherwise, be lent, hired out, or otherwise circulated without the publisher’s prior consent in any form of binding or cover other than that in which it is published, and without a similar condition including this condition being imposed upon the subsequent purchaser. Similarly, no part of the book may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, copied or transmitted in any form whatsoever, or by any means (electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording or otherwise) without the prior permission of the publishers. Order Process
The listing of a book on our website represents an “invitation to treat” rather than a contractual offer. No contract will come into force unless and until we accept an order in accordance with the procedures set out below. To enter into a contract to purchase a book from us, the following steps must be taken:
The customer must click on the ‘Buy now’ button for the product they wish to purchase. As part of the transaction, you as the purchaser will be transferred to our payment service provider’s website (PayPal), and there the payment will be processed. You will have the option to pay as a guest or to log into your own PayPal account and to select your preferred method of payment.
You must confirm your delivery address is correct or amend your delivery address. Following payment, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of the order.
Once we have received your order and payment we endeavour to meet your order as swiftly as possible and your order will become a binding contract. If for any reason we are unable to fulfil your order, such as incomplete address details or an unexpected stock shortage, we will advise by email as soon as possible and request further information or arrange for a refund.
Important Note: If you are ordering the book prior to the official publication date of July 24th 2019, then please be aware that your book will not be despatched until Monday 22nd July, with the intention that it arrives on launch day. Overseas purchasers need to allow a little longer for delivery.
Prices & Payments
We will make all reasonable efforts to publish accurate information but prices are subject to change without notice. Our prices are quoted in British pounds (£) sterling. Payments via PayPal will be converted automatically to other currencies at the prevailing rates of exchange.
You must, during the checkout process, pay the prices of the products you order. Payments may be made by any of the permitted methods specified on our website. Failure to pay any amount due under these Terms & Conditions may lead to the withholding of orders and/or by written notice to cancel the contract of sale for the book(s) ordered.
Personal Data
Double DeClutch and/or its agents will process the personal data that you provide in the course of any transaction (with the exception of credit card details, which shall be kept confidentially by our third party payment provider) in accordance with data protection legislation and the Terms & Conditions of this website. For more information please read our Privacy Notice.
Delivery
Prices quoted for postage and delivery are ‘at cost’ to us. We do not charge a premium. However, in order to keep costs to a minimum, and to illustrate best practice, please be aware that we may occasionally recycle packaging materials, and re-use card or reinforced envelopes where possible.
Packages are, by default, sent inland at UK second-class rate, and proof of postage is always obtained. A First Class postage option is available. If you require next-day delivery, please Contact us and we will endeavour to speed the process. Overseas orders are fulfilled using the most economic airmail service available. Any predicted times cited for delivery are approximate.
We will arrange for delivery of the book(s) you order to the delivery address you specify during the checkout process. Please ensure that the address is correct, complete and up-to-date. Refunds will not be offered if an order is sent out but fails to arrive or receipt is delayed because the delivery address given to us was incorrect or incomplete.
We will always endeavour to deliver your products as quickly as possible. Despatch will be within two working days, whenever possible, but please allow 14 days. However, allowing for the vagaries of the postal system, we cannot guarantee delivery by this date. We promise that, unless there are exceptional circumstances, we shall always complete dispatch within 14 days of the date of the order confirmation. If for any reason despatch is delayed, we will inform you using the email address given at the time of ordering.
If ordering from overseas, especially outside the European Union, please make additional allowances for the time it may take for delivery to be completed. Please allow between 7 and 21 days from the date of despatch.
Damage or Loss in Transit
If your book arrives damaged, we will replace it at no extra cost to you, provided that you notify us of the damage by email or in writing as soon as is reasonably possible after receipt (typically within 5 working days), including a photo of the book and packaging to illustrate the nature and extent of the damage. The packaging must be retained, as received, in order to demonstrate how the damage may have been caused.
We will also replace at no extra cost to you, any book which in our reasonable opinion has been lost in transit, provided that you notify us by telephone or in writing should the book fail to arrive within 28 days of the anticipated delivery date.
Risk & Ownership
The products you purchase from us will become wholly your responsibility from the moment that they come into your possession, or the possession of a person identified by you to accept delivery. We warrant that we have the right to sell these products and that, when sold, they are free from any charge or encumbrance, except as specified in these Terms & Conditions, and that the products will correspond to any description published on our website. They will be of satisfactory quality.
We will not be liable in respect of any losses arising out of any event or events beyond our reasonable control. Neither will we be liable in respect of any business losses, including (without limitation) loss of or damage to profits, income, revenue, use, production, anticipated savings, business, contracts, commercial opportunities or goodwill. We will not be liable in respect of any special, indirect or consequential loss or damage.
You accept that we have an interest in limiting the personal liability of our officers and employees and, having regard to that interest, you acknowledge that we are a limited liability entity; you agree that you will not bring any claim personally against our officers or employees in respect of any losses you suffer in connection with the website or these terms and conditions (this will not, of course, limit or exclude the liability of the limited liability entity itself for the acts and omissions of our officers and employees).
Cancellation & Refunds
Customers may cancel their order at any time prior to despatch. Any notification of a wish to cancel an order must be made in writing, by email, as soon as possible after placing an order. If this is done prior to despatch, we shall endeavour to refund the payment via PayPal. However, if the book has already been despatched, a refund cannot be made until the book has been returned to us in mint, unread re-saleable condition. Customers must arrange for the book’s return at their own expense. A refund to the value of the book(s), excluding original despatch costs, will be made within 30 days.
We may cancel a contract under these Terms & Conditions by giving written notice of termination, if payment is delayed, incomplete, or is not fulfilled in full, or there is any material breach of the contract between us.
You may cancel a contract under these terms and conditions immediately, by giving us written notice of termination, if we commit any material breach of the contract between us. As a consequence of cancellation under these Terms & Conditions, we will cease to have any obligation to deliver products which are undelivered at the date of cancellation, but your obligation, where applicable, to pay for products which have been delivered (as of the date of cancellation) shall stand.
Mistakes & Complaints
Any mistakes in invoices, receipts or payments, once agreed, will be corrected as soon as possible, and at the latest, within 30 days of agreeing to do so. All complaints will be acknowledged within five working days, along with notification of the length of time estimated for its resolution. All complaints should, in the first instance, be submitted via the Contact form on this website. Please be certain to outline your concerns accurately, and include full contact details.
Variation
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions should the need arise, and will do so by publishing a new version here on the website. Revisions will apply to all contracts subsequent to the revision, and will have no bearing upon contracts made prior to the update. Archived copies of these Terms & Conditions may not always be kept, in relation to each user or customer. If these Terms & Conditions are revised, the version to which you originally agreed may no longer be available to view. As a consequence, we recommend that you save a copy of these Terms & Conditions for reference.
Third Party Rights
A contract under these Terms & Conditions is for our mutual benefit, and is not intended to benefit or be enforceable by any third party.
